Dear Visitor,
As the cycle of life continues to roll by, every organism animate and inanimate choses moments of renewal and rebirth – from the snake that gets rid of its old skin, to the trees that shed old leaves for new ones.
And so it is with EIS NIGERIA! Since the epoch making and rather grand Gala Dinner of last year when we celebrated the NIGERIA PETROLEUM GOLDEN JUBILEE AWARDS at the Transcorp Hilton last year, we have not quite met even our own expectations of follow-up activities, which means that we dissappointed many of our readers and followers. I apologise most sincerely for all our shortcomings. There were many factors we could not control, which we should not discuss here.
However, I am pleased to bring to your notice our plans for the final part of the commemoration of 50 Years of Oil Production in Nigeria. First in the line-up of activities is the release of the special book: 50 YEARS OF OIL PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA, incorporating WHO’S WHO IN 50 YEARS OF OIL and LANDMAKS OF THE NIGERIAN PETROLEUM INDUSTRY, before the end of the year. The earlier announced date of Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, has now become unrealistic due to printing deadline issues. A date in December will be announced as soon as we go to press and a firm date of delivery is confirmed.
You will recall that the comemoration process by EIS NIGERIA started last year with the grand and very well attended Award Gala Dinner held on August 16, 2008 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. If you were one of the award recipients at the Abuja event, you have been listed in the WHO’S WHO IN 50 YEARS OF OIL along with many other equally distinguished oil and gas professionals. I should use this opportunity to urge you to send us your profiles and photographs if you have not done so before now.
Meanwhile, the programme is open for sponsorship in various categories as may be seen in the downloadable brochure below. Sponsors will be acknowledged in all promotions in newspapers and television. Sponsors will also get “Sponsored Features” – the number of pages according to their category of sponsorship, and customised or branded copies of the book according to the category of sponsorship.(See the example of Pan Ocean Oil Corporation on this page).
Sponsors will also be prominently acknowledged in the television documentary also titled 50 YEARS OF PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA, to be aired before the formal release of the book. The documentary is planned to air on at least three television networks in Nigeria and as streaming video downloadable from our website.
The above therefore provide huge opportunities for prestige and exposure, especially if your company has played important roles in the development of the Nigerian oil industry.
