Our Mission
To be the leading provider of Nigerian and Gulf of Guinea business
intelligence to the global investment community, employing cutting
edge media technology.
:: About EIS Nigeria
EIS
Nigeria operates through a network of experienced professional
people in all the business sectors covered. The research and data
gathering work is in turn anchored by veteran business journalists
who are themselves resourceful and equipped with the requisite
skills to distill important economic trends, interpret public
policy and the direction of macro-economic indices in Nigeria
and the rest of the Gulf of Guinea.
Energy Information Services Nigeria Limited (RC33, 278) owner
of the EIS NIGERIA and EIS EVENTS trademarks is a multimedia provider
of business intelligence on Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea. Products
and services range from its sole print, television and internet
media brands and workshops – to other publishing partnerships
.The company has undertaken projects in data gathering, research,
television documentaries, television programming and workshops
mostly for the oil and gas industry. Assignments have been carried
out for third party clients like the Niger Delta Development Commission,
the Nasarawa State Committee on Privatization of Government Owned
Companies and several smaller clients. These assignments which
cover Nigeria’s length and breadth, have given us the opportunity
to master the Nigerian business and environmental peculiarities.
From the rugged rain forest terrain in the South East to the arid
North- West or the Savannah Middle Belt, we completely understand
the Nigerian landscape and geography.
Its flagship publications - Nigerian Energy Chronicles and African
Petrobusiness, already made a great impact in 2005 and 2006, but
have been rested since 2007 due to several difficulties and environmental
constraints. After several experiments, we have concluded arrangements
to public Nigerian Energy Chronicles as an on-line weekly journal,
accompanied by a monthly preview – an eight page publication
in full colour for subscribers and for promotion purposes which
will highlight important features planned for the month; interviews
of important oil people and some other data useful to the readers.
Meanwhile, African Petrobusiness will be published once in two
months, with the July/August edition as the launch edition. This
edition will be circulated at the 19th World Petroleum Congress
in Madrid, Spain holding between June 29 and July 3, 2008. Subsequent
editions of African Petrobusiness will always be circulated at
major energy events holding in different parts of the world during
the month of issue, apart from efforts to distribute the publication
through regular newsstands in major oil cities – London,
Aberdeen, Stavanger, Rotterdam, Calgary, Houston, Singapore, Durban,
Libreville and Accra.
EIS Events is being developed as a world class events management
unit and brand. Several local and international events are being
put together especially for the energy industries, in Abuja, Lagos
and some major cities of the world, where we hope to distribute
African Petrobusiness.
EIS EVENTS has also entered into a number of partnerships with
other events organizers and managers locally and internationally
to widen the horizon and sphere of coverage and distribution of
our print and electronic journals.
BUSINESSNOW: Our weekly television show for business people on
the network of Africa Independent Television has been rested for
now. We will look at it again later in 2008, if more favourable
conditions which will make it viable arise.
Energy Information Services Nigeria Limited is focused on being
the leading Nigerian publisher of business intelligence and news
on Nigeria especially in oil and gas, power and electricity, solid
minerals, public sector information/data and stock market/investment
watch. This role will be complimented and enhanced by local conferences
and workshops such as Abuja Petroleum Roundtable, and training
workshops such as Oil and Gas for Financial Services Operators,
et cetera. Also being planned are international workshops which
will be developed as opportunities arise during many of the international
events where we intend to distribute African Petrobusiness.
Having staged a very successful event in 2007, Abuja Petroleum
Roundtable - an annual forum focused on creating linkages between
petroleum exploitation and economic development in Nigeria and
the Gulf of Guinea, will in October, focus on the Niger Delta.
Governors of the nine oil producing states along with will participate
in a Governors Forum at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
EIS NIGERIA will also in August this year inaugurate the first
Nigeria Energy Awards. Due to the uniqueness of 2008 as the Golden
Jubilee of oil production in Nigeria, the maiden awards will be
known as NIGERIA PETROLEUM GOLDEN JUBILEE AWARDS and a major highlight
of the occasion will be the launch of a special publication: 50
Years of Oil Production in Nigeria incorporating important segments
such as LANDMARK PROJECTS OF OIL PRODUCTION IN NIGERIA and WHO’S
WHO IN 50 YEARS OF OIL: 100 NIGERIANS WHO MADE IT HAPPEN!
The award activities will be preceded by special supplements in
Thisday, one of Nigeria’s major newspapers. The first supplement
will be on the LANDMRK PROJECTS IN 50 YEARS OF OIL IN NIGERIA;
while the second will be on WHO’S WHO IN 50 YEARS OF OIL.
The two supplements in Thisday will provide appropriate dress
rehearsals for the final publication and the award ceremonies
proper. The supplements will also help us raise the profile of
the August event, through the creation of more awareness among
Nigerians.
Our
alliance with Thisday newspapers also entails a monthly insert
– ENERGY REVIEW, published on the first Monday of the month.
This is a monthly package of first class interpretative journalism,
with the energy sector (petroleum, petrochemicals, solid minerals,
power and electricity) as the sole focus. It will feature reviews
of energy events/news analyses for past the month; informed forecasts
for the new month, not only for energy commodities, but for investment
outlook and emerging public policies; Energy Executive –
special interviews of the men and women who are moving and shaking
the energy industries; Petroleum School- where the average Nigerian
can gain insight and knowledge about the energy business; University
Alliances with scientific presentations in the energy sector in
collaboration with specialized colleges in several Nigerian Universities,
including Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Usman dan Fodio, Nsukka, Ife
and FUTO Owerri among others.
Several
other sub sectors and content not mentioned above will form part
of this formidable insert which is a must read for every serious
energy executive and indeed any serious businessman, banker or
investor resident in Nigeria, or doing business with Nigeria.
